How much are you looking to spend on the controller? I have a Reefkeeper (I think it might be a RK1) with DC/8 and have not figured out what I am going to do with it just yet. I just bought the AC3 model (Sr. not Pro) and although the programming is archaic, it is a great little unit with huge expansion capabilities.

Yeah, the AC3 is also sweet. I have an older unit without the backlight but with software. But, I'd have to buy new temp and pH probes as well as the DC8.... I just don't trust X10 to turn my halide lights on/off....

If your still not decided on a model, there was a thread not long ago where a guy created an Excel file that categorized all of the current brands.

It was in the Lighting and Filtration forum, ask there if interested....I thought I bookmarked it...??????
