Looking for Eheim 1260 or similar. Need about 400-500gph at 7 ft head.

Go 1262 or bigger. Sorry don't have a pump but a 1260 is on the small size for a 120.....IMHO of course

I got a 1260 on my 40B+20l and after the reactor(1/8" stream coming out) and the dual 1/2" loc line return(3/4" pipe off manifold to single 1/2" loc line then split into 2), flow from return is pretty weak and wish id gone at least a size bigger.... or two

Other thing to keep in mind is the eheim pumps although great don't work well with higher head pressure. Just something I read once upon a time

I'm aiming for 5x turn over. Going to create all flow from powerheads.

I actually have read some of the opposite and that these are strong little pumps.

The 1262 is going to give me around 750gph or about 5.5x turnover. I'm going to be running herbie siphon on this. I actually wouldn't mind 3-5x turnover.

Return plumbing will be 3/4" with about 5.5 ft of head loss.
