WTB Some reef safe fishys!!! New Port Richey area

Hello all, we want to get a new fish, all the local fish stores does not have a big selection. I dont feel like driving all the way to Tampa to go to a good FS!! So Im trying to find one locally. Im looking for a reef safe fish, not really any in particular something colorful though, also looking for some leathers or acros, bigger than a frag cause my tank is full of frags. I want to make it alittle clearer of what I ment, The LFS right around me maybe like 5 - 8 miles from me does not have a good selection and Im not really wanting to drive to my favorite store FAOIS. I drive all over the place during the week and this week it has been to Sand Key which is an hour away from me that by the weekend im burnt out in driving. Thanks and hope I didnt offend anyone by that

There's a wonderful store in Brooksville called Cole's Aquatic Specialities - (352) 754-9420 - 19281 Cortez Blvd, Brooksville, FL

Their livestock is top notch. Corals are limited, but usually real nice. I recommend them if you are up for a trip North. Not sure where you are in NPR, but Cole's is on Cortez Blvd (US 50 bypass) just W of US 41.

WOW yeah thats a little further than I wanted to travel right now, BUT ill keep that in mind and take a trip up there one day for sure, THANKS for that, Ive never heard of them and I like to see new places!!! Thanks again

yes there is a wholesale place (Aquatic Visions) but it is mostly fish and rock...not corals. They do have a couple nice coral tanks with some goodies.....actually lots of goodies but that's not their specialty. Sean is building some giant coral tanks but it is taking a LONG time cuz of $$$$. If you are used to FAOIS you will not like this place...but I LOVE it! They are a wholesaler and things sort of...well, come off the boat. They have great stufff and tons of it. Most LFS in FL and lots in the US buy from them to sell to others but they are not clean looking like some like...they look more like a bait shop.

I still love them. They are honest, knowledgable and have a wide variety of things at good prices.

Mini Reef in NPR is kinda in transition fyi. Was purchased a few years ago but the new employees kinda ran it into the ground, kinda purchased back my original owner who is trying to fix it up and find a good permanent buyer. I do not work there but have talked to mike the current and original owner at length about the decline of the store. They have an excellent setup of tanks to be a good LFS but need to find the right people to work there. They have had all shady employees for a while and no good management. Support MiniReef when you can, I am talking with Mike and trying to put my 2cents to help. They will be looking for an employee soon btw, Mike called to ask me but I'm full up, anyone that knows there stuff could maybe help turn this place around, its got the equipment to become like faois, just need the right people.

OK so the guy (I think it's Mike) that lived on the water in Hudson...he's back?? Those guys that bought him out put so much $$ and time into the store and I thought it was great...but then they let it go to *#($ so I stopped going there.

CanadianReef- Yeah I forgot about that store, I usta go there alot back in the day, than all that stuff happend. Thier the ones who actually told me about this site!!!! I havent been there in awhile but that was NOT one of the LFS I was taliking about there alittle further away than what I concider close to me. when I say close I mean like only a few min away, theres about 3 stores that are a few mins away from me.. Yes they have nice tanks and they have that nice big i think 500 gallon reef tank. I dont know if they would ever be like FAOIS. Maybe after years of finding the right people they can come close, dont know. I cant really say much about them cause its been a long time.

ladyfsu- I think thats the reason I stopped going there as well. I cant really remember. Welp Lady im glad were still all here this morning!!!!!

theresa store on 19 nextto the old walmartshopping center thatjustsays aquariums on it in port richey thatis ok. also bobs feathered friends is decent. aquatic vision.... Holday aquarium has a good selection too.

Lady-- yes you have it right, hopefully they will turn it around. Supposedly they may be changing 1/2 of their FW tanks to SW as well. If you remember they have as much FW as marine warehouse, maybe more.
