xenia fragging

I just grab a stalk and gently pull it off at an angle with a pair of hemostats. Then I use icy gel to glue the frag down .

I agree, just grab at the base and gently pull it off. Never had any luck with super glue, only rubber bands and similar methods for attaching to LR.

I've occassionally had to use a non-serrated knife to prize up an edge of the root/stalk before slowly pulling the xenia loose.

If it's Red Sea Pompom you can just cut the stalk in half with a pair of sharp scissors. Either put the cut piece in an area of slow to moderate flow and next to some rock, or bridal veil it to some rock. The cutting will attach and the stump will regrow a new crown. I've done this many times, and it works well.
