Xenia - Healthy Or Not?

I recieved a free piece of xenia Sunday. As I've not kept this coral before, I'm not exactly sure what a "healthy" one looks like. This is a picture of it after five days.

Does it look like it is supposed to or should I try a different placement?

It looks a bit unhealthy. It should be in moderate light & moderate flow. Irecieved some a while back & it looked about like that after a weekk it finally looked normal & now looks wonderful.

The branches do look thin. They need light for growth (photosynthsis) .Mine seems to come and go shape wise. I've had it almost a year. My water parameters are standard. I do dose iodine weekly.Mine will shrink at my weekly water change and then come back. I do think they are a very interesting coral and add beauty to an aquarium. Good Luck, Jim

Branches are a little thin......give it a few weeks to get use to your tank..... I have Healthy xenia in my tank....

Holy Xenia, bckane! Very nice. I'd give the frag a little bit of time to see if it comes around. Looks a little sickly, but with the proper water/lighting conditons it should be fine.
