I'm baffled by this one - I got a piece of pulsing Xenia about 2 months ago. It has been doing great for all that time, except the past 3 days.
When the tank lights are off, it extends and pulses like crazy (it's actually about doubled in size since I got it). It sits about 15" from my T5 and about 18" from the 150w MH. As soon as the lights come on, it retreats to about 1/4 of the size, and will randomly totatlly retract.
The tank is 79.6, 8.2pH, 3.0 Alk, 425 calc, 0/0/0 detectable. I change 20% of the water every week. Nothing as far as I can tell has changed in the last week.
