XM and giesemann

hello all,

I have a 3X250watt giesemann infinity light unit and its time to replace the globes. I am interested in the XM 15k 250w double ended globes as they are half the price of megachromes and i have heard good things about them. what i need to know is:

1. Are XM globes totally compatible and efficient in a giesemann light unit?

2. Is XM a top quality brand? or should i choose another brand?

ps. if anyone has a pic of a tank under 15k xm's i would love to see!

Think you would be better off going with something else. I use 20K XMs (( SE )), but would never use their 15K, the PAR on them is just awful, heck I think the 20Ks might have more. I have nothing against XMs in general (( like I stated I use them )), but just don't care for their 15Ks.

yeah i did a lil research and decided NOT to use their 15k ive read the pheonix 14k are good, any knowledge on these and their compatability with giesemann light units? otherwise XM 20k would be nice but mabey a little too blue?

I have used the Phoenix bulbs (( but not in a giesemann unit )), and liked them. The only thing I didn't/don't like about them is that they seem to shift color after about 6 months. (( more yellow )).

As for the 20K XMs, I have only used the SE versions, but I like them a lot. I do tend to like a bluer look.

Yeah, go with the XM 20K over the 15K. The 20K is a better bulb and a nice color.

I also had quick color change when using Phoenix bulbs.
