I realize Xmas wrasses diet includes inverts. I'm trying to figure out how many xmas wrasse owners have fish that regularly dine on snails in their aquariums. Thanks.
I am not sure I understand the question but I bought a Xmas Wrasse about 3 weeks ago and he is doing great. I had to remove some of the course substrate that I had so that he had a nice textured substrate to sleep in. Goes to bed every night at 8:45 on the dot. Neat fish that never stops swimming. Do you have him in your 20 gal tank? He is kind of a beefier wrasse that needs alot of room.
no no, not in my 20. I was considering getting a small one now as I plan to upgrade in the next few months to a larger tank. Sorry the wording on the question may be confusing. I meant to ask if they eat any of your snails or if they mostly stick to what you feed.
Gotcha, well I don't have snails but I do have small hermits and a brittle star that he doesn't seem to mess with. I was told and have read that they are considered reef safe. He is constantly grazing the rock, very active and has an interesting almost phosphorescent color pattern that is enhanced by blue light. He is a good choice and great addition to my community tank.
