XR15w/MP10wes - do I need Reeflink?

Hello,

I'm currently exploring Lighting/Pump options. I have a 20inch cube (35 gallon). One of the options I keep going back to is the XR15w/MP10wes combination (most likely will go this route). One of the selling points to me for this is the able to link the devices together and control it from the internet.

From the product description it appears that out of the box I these can be both controlled from the web, my question is what is the purpose for Reeflink device? Is it for the previous models that aren't wireless?

Please help me understand, thanks!

You will need the ReefLink to be able to control the VorTech via the web. You will be able to manually set modes with the controller out of the box though. The Radion will work on the web out of the box but only through USB; ReefLink allows wireless control through EcoSmart Live.

Awesome - thanks for both of your help. If I plan on mounting the Reeflink next to my MP10, do I still need to get the wireless model? I can still control the MP10 (non wireless) on the web if I have it connected to the Reeflink by wire?

You will need a wireless MP10 or MP10wES to communicate with the ReefLink. Our non wireless or MP10ES is not compatible with the ReefLink.
