Yasha Fight

So, I purchased a Yasha pair w/ Red Striped Pistol Shrimp and got them yesterday. Put the three in a small cave I made for them in the front, so I could watch. The pistol is tiny tiny, its cute.

A few months ago, I had put a Yasha in there, but hadn't seen him for months, so I assumed he was a goner. But today, I found him by the durso, so I put him in with the pair. Guess what happened next......YASHA FIGHT.

I flashed an LED light in there, and the older, bigger Yasha had another by his neck, slinging him around. I broke it up, but only after having to move around a ton of rocks.

Long story short, I got the bigger one out and into my holding tank. Luckily I got the two new Yashas and shrimp back together in their cave. Lesson learned...twos company...three is a Yasha fight. haha

Two of them will fight each other too if they are the same sex. Can't find out though if its two females or males that fight. After several attempts to pair, I got lucky and found a compatible pair. You can tell slight differences in size and color, especially the black coloring at the base of their "sail" fin.

Thanks. The original two didn't fight the entire first day and more, so I assume they should be ok together. I looked tonight, and they are in the burrow right next to each other, so I'm gonna keep my fingers crossed they stay together.

I purchased a trio (2 yasha's with one candy cane pistol shrimp) off Diver's Den awhile ago. When I put them in my little 29g all 3 went separate ways. It took days to get all 3 back together again. They went for the first hiding spot they could find when they first went in.

Any pics of these beauties? What are you going to do with the big one?

No pics yet, they are still hiding out during the day. The only way I have seen them is with a flashlight into the cave.

The big one went into the other tank, not sure what I'm gonna do with him yet. I have a very small clown pair in there, and just moved my Mated Filefish in there temporarily.
