Yasha goby gone?

I introduced a yasha goby tiger shrimp pair to a nano tank 3 days ago and have not seen him since. I see the shrimp come out of the holes in the rock work all the time but still no sign of the goby. Could he have gotten stuck in the rockwork?

That's what I'm hoping... How long could he last in there? I was running a glass lid the whole time since I put him in there so there is no way he could have jumped.

Yasha hase gobies are notorious for hiding, say even up to a month upon introduction. Especially if you have other tankmates prior to the goby, it can stay out of sight for some time. Mine stayed out of site for near two weeks, then slowly began to make an appearance, but remained skittish. Two weeks after, it hovers a good two inches above the sand bed, and exerts quite the personality while the pistol shrimp cleans beneath. As stated above, there is that possibility... but.. let's remain optimistic! Good luck

I added two yasha gobies and a tiger pistol to my nano, along with two helfrichi gobies and a yellow priolepis goby , this week. One yasha followed the pistol into the first hole they came across at the base of the rockwork. The second yasha stayed out at the base of the rockwork. Now both yasha gobies are out and being seen with the pistol doing it's excavation thing. It did take a day before the second yasha came out.

I had a pair of yashas. But one decided to hide long enough inside of the hole to starve to death. Found it with a shrunken belly last night. =\

punks. mine have all hid the vast majority of the time. it didn't matter if they were the only fish in the tank, i;ve tried pairs,w/ and without shrimp. dither fish etc. mine will go MIA for up to a month.

I hope he shows up. I put them in an 8gallon nano thinking that they would always been seen. If not I'll have to think of a different goby for the shrimp.
