Yashas are shy little buggers. When my pistol shrimp died, I saw very little of the goby. When months went buy without a sighting I assumed that he was feeding the crabs. Low and behold as I was cleaning the tank, I spotted him in the corner overflow. Poor little guy. I slowly reached in and he darted for the bottom, so he seems healthy.
Any suggestions on how to get him out of there?

Can you get a net in there? It helps to turn the pumps off and drain the overflow as much as possible. Sometimes the fish goes down the overflow tubes and into the sump. Another option is a very small hook and some bait.

Shut down the system and siphon out the overflow box into a bucket. He should take a high speed roller coaster ride to freedom

Small hook huh!!! I like it. Why spend money to go out fishing, right!

I slid the canopy forward and turned off the pump. The fish was hiding down the bottom behind the pipes, so even if I could get a net in there there would be no way to corner him. The siphon is probably the only way. Unless he decides to jump back into the display on his own. I'm just afraid I might hurt him or swallow him when I start the siphon.. LOL.
