Just purchased a yellow tail black Blenny. He promptly found a hold in one of the rocks and has taken residence there. However I have not seen him come out to eat since he was introduced to the tank. Any suggestions. Thanks
It's probably because he's a herbivore and a majority of his diet will be what he scrapes off the rock. It's not unusual for a blenny to not readily accept food. How long have you had it? Did you ask to see it eat at the lfs before you purchased it?
Blennies are funny sometimes. To get my midas blenny to eat I fed one side of my tank heavy (to attract all of the other fish) and then spot fed my blennies' hole. That made him get used to the idea of food. You can also soak any food you get in selecon or feed live brine. Most fish can't resist one of those two.
