i have had the tang for about a month. The 'spots' have been there ever since I first bought the tang. Is it some sort of diesease/pathogen? He seems to be eating fine, been eating Spectrum pellets like a pig, though he has been kind of snubbing his SeaVeggies.

This sorta highlights the area I'm referring to

Also, my tank is 24" high but he is never more than 6" above the sand. Are they just more of a bottom swimming fish, or is the current or something too strong in the tank? (tank is 72"Lx18"Wx24"T, 3,000gph powerhead used to create a vertical gyre flow)

Thanks for the help!

Looks like the beginning of HLLE --- lateral line erosion.

I doubt the flow/current would have anything to do with that.

Knock on wood, I haven't even had to deal with it, but from my understanding it can be caused by water parameter issues and/or diet.

Yeah, thats what i was afraid of. I need to do some research on HLLE.

Alright, looks like I'll be soaking the pellets & algae sheets in garlic & selcon for a while, hopefully that clears it up. I probably should get some frozen foods too, I'm thinking Rod's 'original'. It seems like it has everything in it you could possibly feed a tank.
