Yellow Tang feeding help

I put a small 1.5 inch YT in my tank yesterday. This fish acts hungry all of the time. It has even munched on my green clove polyps! I feed my other 2 fish (Small clowns) 2 x per day small amounts of a mixture of frozen mysis, zooplankton, cyclopeeze, and frozen brine. My tang has accepted all of this. I also bought "seaweed selects" green marine algae and he has been munching on this throughout the day. My question is how often do I need to put the seaweed selects on the clip for him? Do I keep some in the tank at all times or just a few times per week?

I feed seaweed selects and other food to all my fish in the morning then again in about eight hours. The tangs in my tank are always fat. I have had some of them over seven years.

i do seaweed every other day and a mix of brine/formula 1/formula2/cyclop-eeze on alternating days.

Tangs are natural grazers - they will pick at the LR all day long and munch on a nori clip all day as well. I would make sure your tang gets seaweed every day and plenty of it. :)

For added power to your seaweed soak it in some selcon to add some "vitamins" to their diet.

BTW, next time get some nori from your local asian grocery store. If you don't have an asian grocery store near you, you may find it at a normal grocery store in the "International Section". Just make sure that it isn't seasoned with anything.

OK, I thought those Seaweed Selects were basically nori (though I haven't tried to eat the stuff or anything). Afterall, nori is just dried seaweed. . .or at least, that's what I thought. Or are you talking about non-dried seaweed?

Anyway, I try to do once a day with the nori/seaweed selects as well, but I'm guessing you probably don't want to leave the stuff in your tank all day. As a matter of fact, stopped using my seaweed clip and just started rubber banding it to a piece of rubble. That way, when the tang's had enough, my clean up crew finishes it off. I actually heard someone say awhile back that they don't even feed their tang, but just let him graze off the LR. I'm guessing this couldn't possibly be enough food in a mini-reef.

I feed all my tanks Nori everyday (yes..seaweed and nori is the same thing). Every other day I feed other frozen foods, but always with nori.

I have 5 tangs. My Regal, and yellow is amost 6years old, my purple 5yrs.

Nori and lots of it every day for my PBT, and I get it at the grocery store same stuff (no spices). Snails invariably are on the magnet holder at night -- and any extra that gets loose is just eaten later during grazing no biggie. I also drop a few strands of chaeto in 2-3 times per week which gets slurped like spaghetti.
