Yet another fish stocking question

So my upgrade is done (72 gallon to 90 gallon) its been running over a month now, and nothing died on me (bless you lord) all for all, the tank is looking great and things are adjusting to the upgrade to halides as well...

So I wanna know what I can keep for fish now...

Currently I have the following fish :

1 mated pair of blue neon gobies
1 cinnamon clown
1 yellow tang
1 bi-color blenny
1 royal gramma
1 red hawk fish
2 green chromis


I have a total of 9 fish but they are all smaller fish, the tang and cinnamon clown are the biggest fish and even they are not that big..

Can I add more fish? I'd like to get a blue hippo tang if I can and maybe something else?

Suggestions ???



90 gallon tank, 150lbs+ of live rock, 140lbs of live sand and 20 gallon sump/fuge combo... if that helps ...

A hippo or a kole would work but just keep a eye on the yellow for aggresion. Koles are underated IMO thjey are nice small tangs.

Tomini or Chevron tangs are an awesome alternatives for kole. Don't get me wrong. Just giving you ideas. I have a Kole and love it!

you could do 1 more tang but i would not do a blue hippo as they grow quite large

well I'd really like a blue hippo as they have been selling some small ones that are the size of half dollars locally... I could go for a powder blue tang though I guess...

any other cool fish I could add besides a tang ?

The only tang that would be suitable for your tank would be something like a Kole. They stay generally small and would probably be ok in a 90. A Hippo grows very large and quickly. Power blue's are known to be very difficult to keep and will also outgrow your tank. You can maybe try a different dwarf Angel (Flame or Coral Beauty), but they are 50/50 at best for being reef safe.

Can I do more then 1 smaller fish??

like a pair of fire fish or maybe add a mate for my cinnamon clown or will they get to aggressive? (she plays nice in the tank now)

You could probably get away with doing both.. A mate for your clown and a pair of fire fish..

I have a pair of firefish and really like them, you could easily add a pair of them and another clown. And don't discount a Kole just because they aren't the most colorful as they easily make that up with personality.

maybe a few more chromis to make a school, usually people have 5 or more

and a mate for my cinnamon clown OR 2 SMALLER fish?

Can I get away with this

(I changed my mind on the kole after seeing a local club member's tank tonight with a very active kole)
