Yet another RODI question!

The DI chamber on my BRS 4 stage does not fill with water, is this normal operation?

While its running yes, you should still be able to see some trickles coming down the canister

You have some air trapped in the housing. In most cases the air doesn't cause any problems. If you'd like to get it out, with the system running, unscrew the DI housing about a 1/4 tuen - just enough to break the seal at the oring. You'll see the water level start to climb immediately (have a towel handy). Just before the water level reaches the oring, cinch the housing tight.

You'll drive yourself batty trying to get all the air out, because it will come back. The pipes that come in to the house don't have a solid column of water. There is usually always some air, and this accumulates in the outer DI chamber for some reason.

I only ever have about 1/2-3/4 inch of water in the DI chamber

The key here is to understand that the DI cartridge is an axial flow cartridge - meaning the water flows in one end (the bottom) and out the other. This differs from the sediment filter and the carbon block - water flows through these radial flow cartridges from the outside to the center, and then out.

So even if you have air in your DI housing, any water leaving the housing HAS TO go through the DI cartridge to get out.
