YM Goby & Pistol Shrimp Pair...

I picked up this pair today and was wondering what the best type of food is? The YM is about 1 1/2" and the PS is 1". Thanks.

Well I just put the pair in the tank and the pistol shrimp took off and hid under a rock. The goby can't find the shrimp and he's not happy at all. He's going crazy swimming back and forth frantically.

Give it some time, they will pair together. I had that experience too when I introduced them into the tank. I got them from different stores and they are pairing together now.
I am feeding them the usual stuff, mysis, brine shrimps, blood worms ..........

Thanks HH. They were already paired when I bought them, that's why the goby is freaking out because he can't find the shrimp. After they both settle down I'm sure they will find each other. Do you think frozen pellets will work?

Soory, I don't have any experience with that.
It is really fun to see the shrimp keeps busy moving pebbles and sand out of their home while the goby won't care less. It feels like that the goby has hired a maid ...........

One more question, I have between 1 1/2" - 2" of sand. Is that enough for the shrimp to burrow?

i feed my YWG/PS formual 1 pellets, mysis shrimp, prime reef. they seem to like the variety. you should be fine wih the sandbed. my only grip is the PS will make a mess of your tank. it never seems to stop diggin'. -_-
