You guys with wave boxes

How did you get the perfect wave going I have adjusted for three hours and finally got about a 3/8 inch wave got any idea what to expect with a 180 6ft tank. I moved my rock so it had a straight shot across the tank.
I love the waves I just want it to literally move the water LOL.

I ended up getting a Tunze for a good deal. I had been looking at the fish street wave boxes still thinking about one of them also.

how high do you have the box? the line needs to be about a 1/2" under water after you get the rocking going on then you can move it up or down to get the wave you want. you are not useing the blue foam thing? I didn't use it. works better

I have a custom wavebox and had a super wave going in my tank when it was the only thing running. With the returns on, it kills it.

Never have got it tuned in.

I think I am going to have to change my returns to help but it did make a difference moving it to 1/2 inch below. What exactly does the little adjuster box do the only directions I can find are German the English site was having server errors.

I have a tunze box and the adjust sets the fequency of the wave pulse... the faster the pulse the smaller the wave... you are looking to tune it so that a wave can travel the full length of the tank before the next pulse. This is considered setting the resonance frequency. I have about a 1/2 - 3/4" wave but can't go much more or the water splashes out. You are basically looking for a rocking motion where the center of your tank never moves, the sides move up and down...

I have a 180 6ft as well with corner overflows. THey say wavemakers work better with tanks that have center overflows but I get plenty of coral movement and a decent wave.

There is also an adjustment on the metal box that will lower the intensity once you find the right rhythm. This is only if hte water is splashing out.

I have a guide that I can scan some pages for you. I have the wavebox 6212. Directions have 3 languages including English...

Since the electric is out I set it up with just it running a little bit ago and I think I have it close to where I want it. Now to hook up everything to my truck and go to bed. I hate no electric I am buying a new welder with a 15kw generator here in a few weeks but my truck works great really.

They are ran of 24 volt they have a computer type plug to change them I talked to the guy and he said they would run on either actually 220 would be alright use less electric but they are 110.
