YWG Bottom Mouth Gone

Hi, i bought my ywg a week ago to pair up with my pistol shrimp. one day i saw him opening his mouth the entire time..but when i look closer his bottom lip has a hole in it. i do not know what happened..any ideas? & is this treatable?

oh if this helps. i think i saw a red mark on his bottom lip before he got the hole.
