YWG lost color

Seeking some input on a yellow watchman goby.

It has probably been over a year now that my YWG lost all if its coloring and is white. It eats (and obviously is still alive after a year). It has been paired up with the same pistol shrimp since before and after the color change. It lost its color in a smaller tank prior to moving into the larger tank. At one time it turned back halfway to the yellow color for a day, but for a long time has been white.

Do you think I would have any luck trying to pair it with another ywg? Or would they most likely show aggression to each other? I have noted a few pairs with one shrimp, however am thinking that perhaps it was a mated pair from the start. Not sure if this would bring the color back either. Thanks for your input.

I'm not sure about the color issue.
I had a YWG and it seemed to have a screw loose. If there was any kind of change it would dart all around the tank. I pulled him out of the filter socks two times before I put grill guard on my overflow. The grill guard worked but when I added some dartfish he disappeared. I had, and still have a Yasha Goby. I like the Yasha Goby much better. Throw a Yasha in there they won't fight should be fine.

I've had two YWG do this. I have read that the females do this and then I've read that it's an age thing. I want to say it's normal but I honestly don't know why.
