Try doing a dip. You may see a parasite come off that would explain this. On some of mine before I put them in my tank, I found some of the zoo eating I think they are called pyramid snails. Try also doing a google search on it and it should pop up with a picture. Good luck

Id try fresh water first, then let it sit for a day, if no improvement, try iodine. May even be the lighting, how old are the bulbs?

as stated in other forums, never do a freshwater dip, it will stress the coral out more than it already is. Use your tank water or even fresh saltwater with iodine, revive, or furan2 dip. Using freshwater, you dont have the same pH and other params, its like sticking a human in a chamber full of methane. THe same things happened to my PPE and in a week or two they were back to normal

Ive done multiple fresh water dips and not had any major problems- but then, maybe i have just been lucky. I do know that my freshwater dip before has nuked a zoa eating nudi and a few other evil critters.

i dipped them in coral revive and sometimes furan2 when i suspect zoapox. freshwater isnt always bad but there are steps that need to be taken as in the same pH temp and what not to cause the least amount of stress.
