zebra goby

I bought 2 zebra goobies and all the descriptions say that they hide in rocks, hang around the sand. These 2 are at the top of the tank as high as they can go since I got them. They are eating fine. I can actually touch them. Whats up, are they just stupid ?

they are fine. as long as the hide at night.

Do you have anything in the tank that would bother them? They usually will hide in the rocks and dig into the sand and create holes and passages between rocks. Do you have sand in your tank?

I have about a 4 inch sand bed. 120 lbs of rock. Nothing seems to be bothering them. I dont understand it.

Are you talking about Ptereleotris zebra? if so, this species spends much of its time around a specific area in a rock crevice. If they feel secure, they will venture around other areas of the tank, but usually not too far from their refuge. IME, unless there are a lot of individuals, they are usually much more shy.

Im glad that they feel secure. I have 2 and they are always out and around. Thanks
