Zeovit

Just curious if anyone out there is runnign a zeovit tank and what products they are using. Just curious cause from what I have seen the colors of SPS are just unreal in those systems. Also if anyone has any pointer on how to get colors like that out of SPS without Zeovit please respond.

http://www.zeovitusa.com/

Above link to the US website if unfamiliar with Zeovit.

you can get zeo colors without zeo...

i ran zeo for years... what you want to do is keep rock solid water parameters and run GFO and carbon...

try adding some of the zeo additives... the amino acids and sponge power for example....

there are alot of Zeovit products that you can use in non zeovit tanks like k-balance, coral vitalizer, sponge power, amino acids, potassium iodine, etc...

i'm running zeo in my 30gal sps tank, as a kind of trial thing for my future 120 sps.
it's been great so far, 6months in to it now and things are looking better and better.
it's nice because i don't have to use a carbon rx or a phosban rx, just a passive sock of carbon for water clarity, the zeolite+zeobac remove ammonia and phosphates and other bad things.

And you only change the zeolith every 6-8weeks, carbon and phosban are exhusted by then.
Combined that with reefers best salt and things look great, the best PE i've ever seen in my tank.
But there are lots of tanks out there that do not run a full zeovit system or any zeovit products at all and there tanks are amazing.

Not everones tanks will look just like the zeovit tank pics that you see on the forums, it depends alot on the corals, lighting, skimmers............ext.
I just noticed my skimmer wasn't working very will so i cleaned it up and man what a diffrence the colors look better and the water seems cleaner and the PE is even better.

I'll post some new pics if i can find my carmera's charger.

tagging along here been thinking about trying zeovit myself seems like a whole lot of work and it seems kinda hard to do i just might be an idiot though

So Ty1e you are just running with the zeolite+zeobac as well as their featured salt mix and zeovit mix, do you use the ZEOfood or the reation chamber for the media? Just curious. I am not worried about lighting I have plenty of that as well as excellent skimming. Also some oictures would be great to se from anyone.

Photos if anyone has them of their SPS response to any of the supplememnts/addatives would be great or from anyone running th entire set up would be great to see the difference in the appearance.

I use the ultralith system from fauna marin, which is a zeolite bacterial system as well. It just is not as intense as zeovit is. It is less time consuming, and less costly, but similiar results.

Zeovit, running the whole system really strips your tank bare of nutrients, where as ultralith makes the nutrient level a little closer to natural sea level. It strips nutrients, just not as intense as zeovit. Maybe something to look into, as they are similiar in all respects.

Im using ZEOvit and its not time consuming. Takes max 2 min per day. Shaking the filter and dosing.

products im using:
ZEOstart2
ZEObak
ZEOfood7
Amino acid concentrate
Coral vitalizer
Iron concentrate
Potassium Iodide Flouride Concentrate
B-balance
ZEOSpur 2
K-balance

And kz carbon

ANy photos of how the SPS look Mr. Cheezy? Trying to see what the most necessary elements I could use woudl be. Thanks for al lthe input keep it coming.

I use the vodka method and have achieved very low nutrient levels. I've started dosing potassium to get the tank up to NSW levels.

For AA's ive tried seachem but it makes my skimmer overflow so I purchased Zeo AA's.

I'm not sure whats the best way to go for coral food.

I made up a batch of coral food based on the blu coral method but im not sure that will be the best way to go.

As an alternative I might go with Zeovit's sponge power. I've heard allot of good things about it.

Here you go with a full blown zeo system.

j.prostrata can you go into any detail about what additives you use and equipment, would be helpful, and those SPS look great. Thanks again

Thanks guys and gals. Lighting 4-400 watt xm20k off m59 5 hrs day. 2 vho actinic and 2 fiji purples 12 hrs a day on IC660.

Dosing schedule is going to look a lot different then most on here I am sure.. My colors r popping though so I wil not change anything. I do get some algae but I just use snails and a few tuxedo urchins to help with that. For the colors I am having I can handle some algae. Plus I honestly believe with these systems we can almost be to steril of an environment for overall health of out animals SPS that is.
