Not worried that it isnt opening but the way its open, lol

Reason for concern or has something to do with all the babies underneath? flow? light? Looking to far into this?

.... In my experience the umbrella effect is usually fatal...

I had a sweet polyp like yours, it was spreading and making babies, it did that and the next week it was all over... Good luck

Did you try an find a solution? Was it flow or lighting? Will the babies also not make it?

Unfortunately I was to new and scared to mess with them, in my mind the more I did something the worse it would get, but i didn't realize it would be on its way out anyways. The big polyp melted away and then babies followed.

I don't have that experience anymore but I have changed so much on my system as of today it's crazy... If nobody else comments here you can try to google search umbrella effect on pally...

I would try moving it in the shade for awhile. Sometimes when corals reach, it can be due to not enough light. When they pull back like that, it might be receiving too much light.

I have had that. It's usually an indication it's getting too much light.
