How do you remove one polyp from a really thick colony. Let me clarify, I just got a rock covered in zoas, there are about 5 or 6 polyps i would like to isolate out of the 100 plus. These are a completely dif color from the rest.

If the ones you want to isolate are separate from the others and you don't mine breaking the rock they are on, I use a cheap wood chisel and hammer. If they are mixed in with the others checkout this link. It has another method and some good tips when you work with zoanthids.

Measure the polyp and mark them then you the correct size drill bits and your cordless mikita!!! LOL when it is out of the tank of corse....

You might want to count how many polyps in it is from a certain point... I just say this because I have tried to get a single polyp out of a group 3x's now and I never get the right one! They all look alike in this bunch when closed.
