well , more like growth on zoas.
I really do appreciate the help I receive here and have done my best to reciprocate.
Here begins the tale... A couple of frags donated by a friend were looking great. Then I started to notice that some of the zoas stopped opening all the way. It was recommended to dip them in a tank water/iodine mix for 5 minutes. I not only had my water checked at the LFS but bought a test kit and all results were either "perfect" or slightly above. Nitrate was the only one higher and it was only at 20.
I'll wait to see what the dip fixes but here's the question for today:
on one frag, I found a bright yellow material that looks like a sponge. It is between the polyps and under the rock base. That part of the base was suspended and not in contact with sand or other rock.
It has a "foamy" appearing texture. So I am assuming what looks like a sponge, acts like a sponge might possibly be a sponge ...
Opinions ?
