Hi guys,
I have this Rasta Zoa, that appears to have these green string looking object coming out of the base of the frag. Any idea what that may be?
The other Zoa frags that are on the frag rack does not have anything like it.
See pictures below, thanks!

Kinda looks like a small Caulerpa algae, from what I researched...I may need to start plucking it

Well I tried plucking some of it off and it came back. Some of the green algae looked like Hair Algae, but at the tips it looked like a fan.

This nuisance spread to a neighboring frag :(

So I decided to pull both of them and dip them with Coral Rx. Then took them out, scrubbed with a toothbrush, and plucked them out. Gave them a fresh rinse with tank water, and then placed them back into the tank....Hopefully this doesn't come back.
Also, I didn't have any hermits around my frag rack since it was to high for them to climb. I may start placing the frags on the sand bed until I figure out where I want to put them.

It's bryopsis , is tricky to get rid of when it gets out of hand and is certainly a fast grower :) best to get rid of it while you can :)
