Hello all,

last wednesday i got a few zoas colonys on live rock and for the first day some started to open up then i decided to split them (about 8 pieces) and mount them in a few different spots on my rock

Since then (4-5 days ago) 7 of the 8 have not opened up and look like the pic attached, I tried to take a picture but my camera skills are not up to scratch

all my other zoa colonys that ive split up the same way are doing fine

If anyone knows what is happening to them please help, im new to reefing so im not 100% sure if the way they look is a sign that they are dying or not

this pic best describes the way most polyps look

Hm... try dipping them in lugol idodine in case of infection. Then use Coral RX to see if any pest comes off them.

Did you quarantine them? Could be pests, slow to open, tank parameters, lighting, ect... Would need more information, and a picture might help. Sorry not much help...kind of sound like pests, but really hard to tell.
