ok i have had a few zoanthid colonies for about half a year now, and a frag for about three months. All was well until my dragon eye zoos closed up about 2 to three months ago, and they gradually closed to a full close. now my green and blue zoanthids are closed up. i dont know if some sort of fluctuation happended but i have had a recent cyano outbreak and the slime is on the zoos idk if that does anything. Also, i have some aptasia anenomes but not really on the zoos. but i am worried about my asterina proble, i sometimes catch them on the polyps but it still doesnt explain why there are all closed. All params are fine, salinity .024, temp 77 , calcuim 400, iodide supplement and phyto supps as well. I am willing to try anthing that could help. thanks!

Are you able to take out the zoo and clean it? If so that would be best. Inspect it carefully to see if there is any pest (nudibrach, zoa eatting spiders...etc) on it.

I would dip it in coral RX or Revive to see if that helps. If you see sign of infection lugol iodine helps too.

Too much flow can cause some zoo to close up.

I would solve the problems with the tank in the first place.
You need to prevent ciano over the polyps. They can close because of it, yes.
Stop the phyto supplements, make sure you've got a good skimmer, partial water changes in the maintenance schedule and good lights.
Remove all Asterinas from the system.
Aiptasia could get close to the polyps as well and it is a great idea to rid of them!!
Avoid hermits and other creature on them too.
Check for predators at night.
Try to bring your temp gradually to 78/79°F, if you can.
Check the alk too.
Good luck!

Grandis.
