Zoas, good or bad?

so, im getting more into SPS and LPS, but i have a bunch of zoa's that are on the rocks. i like the color and movement, but do you think they are a bad thing for a SPS dominated tank?

I have a nice red zoa colony that is taking over a acro and Elk horn coral. the zoas are killing the coral underneath but the tips are still above all so im fine, but its starting to freak me out and will ZOA's kill SPS? do they outgrow SPS. should i try and remove them?

what are everyone's opinions on Zoa's and SPS?

thanks:wavehand:

personally i think if your going to have zoas in a sps tank you should keep the zoas on the sand bed. or if your going to have them on your rocks frag them often to make sure they do not get out of control and go on your sps corals. because zoas do grow quick and can get out of control

thats what i was afraid of....

and my small frags of Zoas, have taken off and now i have mini colonies all over the place, and they are starting to intrude in SPS territory...

yea i would defenitely frag the zoas. because i am sure your sps coral are not appreciating the zoas being all over them

I have some taking over the right side of my tank, one of my BTA is actually showing signs of stinging damage! watch out

I prefered zoas than gsp. They behave better than gsp with various color lol
Gsp really cause more damage if not monitor properly JMHE
