1 lfs I go to charges $50 for rock t but usually there's about 20-30 polyps on a rock

Depends on where you are. Different parts of the country have different prices because of supply and demand. If a zoa is more available where you then where I am I will pay more unless I want to ship. You have to check what is available where you are to try and determine price. Do you have fragswaps in your area? They are my favorite place to buy frags.

usually I'm willing to pay $5 per polyp. Some crazy nice ones, I would pay up to $15 or $20. But I will only buy 1 or 2 polyps and let it grow.

this deal averages $5 pp. So it's not too bad. nothing that fancy in the pack.

FWIW, at the last swap meet I attended, (local club) I think I paid $15 for two polyps of blue hornets. $10 for one red hornet. Twenty bucks for a singular gold maul. Do the math..

Like mentioned above though, it all depends on your location, and supply and demand.

I got some blue hornet, night crawlers, pink hippo, utter chaos, vivid rainbows and green sparkles for $40 today. They were tiny babies, but zoas grow really fast in my tank.

been eyeing this hallucination for a month.. don't think I can justify spending $150 for 1 polyp

not sure where you are from OP, but here in LA, we get just about everything. I have never bought corals in stores. Give it time and your local reefers will sell you much cheaper frags
