If the polyps are opening and healthy then they will eventually multiply, just take patients. Some zoas colonies will grow quick, some take a long time to get a few

There are many reasons but most of all you have to be patient and do a little troubleshooting. There could very well be nothing wrong at all. I also agree with everything said above
there are different kinds of cyano red cyano imo will pull all the nutrients out of corals and plants i had it in my fuge once and it started to spread to my DT my zoas didnt seem to enjoy it being around and all the plants in my fuge started to die off had a nitrate spike of 20ppm used this stuff called red slime (something i cant remember) did two w/c in a week and red cyano was gone coral were happy again plants sprung rite back and nitrates went back to 0
hydroids i myself have never had them but from what i know they will eat corals and i also think youd be able to see them if you had them most of the time people with them post pics and there pretty viewable in the pics but im not sure
i think you should post a pic of the colony/ies your concerned about, maybe some could find a good answer for you.
Boyd Enterprises Chemi-Clean Saltwater Conditioner Red Slime
thats the stuff will rid you of red slim..
its pretty cut and dry to use also
one level scoop for every 10 gallons..
turn off your skimmer... it will go crazy and i mean CRAZY if you leave it on...
do a water change after 48 hours siphon(sp?) w.e. is left
if its not all gone wait a week and repeat
ive had to do it twice on two different tanks and worked both times
also if you have red slime most of the time its do to a "lack of flow" in the ocean it builds and then its swept away buy the current... same in a tank it starts in a low flow area then spreads across the tank. hope that helps a little..
