Zoas under LEDs?

I have a 125 gallon reef setup under 2 high power Cree LED systems. I have Blue Hornets, Fruit Loops, Rastas, Atlantic Blues, and RPEs. I have noticed some growth, but not enough to compare to my old lighting, 4 bulb T5s. What do you all think about LEDs and zoa growth? I REALLY want to have a nice rock full of Rastas.

It's slower growth, but really not by much once they get acclimated to the new lighting. Mine really took off once I started dosing Reef Plus and Red Sea Reef Energy, usually I don't think additives do much at all but these worked great in my tank...

Hello organism:
Could you please let us know if you had any extra algae growing after dosing the new additives?
Also, how much did you add and how big is the system, please.
Have you tried target feeding?

Thanks,

Grandis.

The growth/reproductive rates in zoas aren't related only to light.
There is more to that like water chemistry, filtration and nutrition.
I also think they would have to adapt to your new lights and that takes time.
I personally prefer T5s over LEDs any time, but there are many who will tell you the opposite.
Matter of taste, I guess, once lots of people claim their zoas to be growing like weeds under LEDs.

My zoas grow well under LED, Just as good as T5 and MH. But then again so do my lps and sps. No, I'm not looking to start a discussion on leds!

Like organism said it tkaes time for some coral to acclimate to led lighting. It took a month or two for my coral when I switched.

I know how it goes.
Yeah, sometimes takes longer then a month too.
It's like any other type of light. Just an adaptation period.

Yeah it has been a month for most of them and my rastas have been picking up the pace surprisingly. I guess we will wait and see.

Utter chaos went from 2 polyps to 9 polyps in 8 weeks since I first bought them. They are fast in my tank but so are pretty much everything in my tank.
