zoos nudibranchs

I have a few zoanthids in my tank and I noticed a few polyps closing up. Upon closer look I found little nudibranchs. How do I know if these are harming the zoanthids or if there just irritating and how would I go about getting rid of them. I was not sure if iodine dip would help get them off. I am just picking them off as I see them with tweazers but there has got to be a better way.

Thanks

get a wrasse that will eat them, dip them in flatworm exit. Its probably harming your zoanthids. I wouldn't take any chances, KILL EM ALL!

go to zoaid.com...look up predators..if you find any of them then you must remove them..

chances are if they are in and around your zoos they are likely eating them too...freshwater dip will kill the nudis...the egg sacks will have to be picked/ scraped of the polyps individually..

i place mine in freshwater..temp and ph matched and shake them rather violently you will see the nudi's fall off immediately...after that i ususally let it it for a coule mintues in the fresh water...give them another shake then transfer them back into salt water...a shallow dish/bowl...that way i can further inspect for the eggs...scrap off what i find...shake them off in saltwater and the QT them for a week or two, to see if anything comes out of the wood work...if all is good back to the tank they go..

plus my 6 line seems to pick at all new arrivals...in search of anything i may have missed..

There's a ton of valuable info at the top of this page. Also read the Zoanthid information draft when you have some spare time. Lots of very good info.

Thank you so much everyone for the valuable information. I have the flatworm exit but I did not even consider freshwater baths. I will be getting a sixline wrasse in the future as well so in the mean time I will do the above. Thanks again for everyones help.
