The first 2 day when I installed the 7095, the LED lighted up brightly. Since then the LED is pretty dim and I don't see the moonlight in the tank. This has been about few weeks. Is this part of the moon cycle setting??

The moon brightens for 14 days and then starts dimming for about the same and is not visible for a day.

Newbee, seriously ask yourself if you can really see much by moonlight, what our competitors sell is a night light, in relation to the sun the moon is if I recall about 1/1,000,000th the intensity. If you properly install it so it is angled gently down the length of the aquarium it does sufficiently illuminate an aquarium up to 6ft long and 2 ft wide to be an accurate representation of the moon in proportion to Metal Halide lighting.

That is true. Especially under water. Maybe I just don't have it angled properly. What's the best way to mount it on the rim of the tank? I have an open tank, no hood. I used MH pendants hung from the ceiling.

I still love my Tunze Streams and Multicontroller though. The moonlight isn't why I purchased them. I completely forgot about it until I opened the box.

What you want to do is mount it centered on the side so it is just barely angled down. In that position it will pretty much cover the tank in it's brightest phase and only a portion in it's dimmer phases.

That is the way I mounted mine in my 180g. However, I never recall seeing 14 days of brightness. Only 2-3 days that it brightens up.

The daily differences are very subtle but they are their. You can see it better if you just run it in a black room shining the LED in a small box.
