1/2 terrarium 1/2 fish Q's

I know this is a SW forum, but anyone know where to find info on setting up a half and half tank for frogs turtels and fish. I have a 55 and was going to silicone a 9" crylic divider in about the middle of the tank, fill half with live plant/tetras and the other with a deep soil bed for frogs and such. Any good forums or advice to visit?

Check out www.dendroboard.com . It's a site dedicated to keeping poison dart frogs, etc. Also google the word "vivarium," the term for what you want to do.

I had a 10 & 20 long that I did that to. in the 10 the acrylic flexed to much at the weight of the soil... so make sure you use a thick enough piece. in the 20 I used a little submersibe that pumped water up to a small hill that had a stream (pvc pipe) and flowed back into the "lake". kids thought it was cool

a 55 could be a lot of fun. definately more room then I had

I had some Azures a few years ago before I moved here and had a similar setup but no fish living in water. I used a 29 high and had a water fall setup in it. You should use the greatstuff foam covered in black silicone and pat some coco bedding on it. It looks fantastic. One thing you should know is that once complete, it will weigh alot and you should plan on keeping it where it sits for a while.

thanks crazy I may take you up on that greenery. Thanks to everyone else also. I have done some reading but still have a long way to go. Being in the SW hobby has taught me read unyil you think you get it and then read some more, then plan way way ahead when setting up a design. I plan to use lots of natural shale rock and silicone, tank will be heavy I'm sure. Prob about as much as a SW setup. Keep the advice rolling in, I like it, also the good threads too.
