I have a 1/3 hp chiller slickdonkey it draws a little over 7amps at startup are you sure its only 6amps?
You can have you an outlet on you dc8 hooked to a 120v relay an use the contacts of the relay hooked to its own power source. So no load other than the amp draw of the coil passes thought the dc8.
I would also recomend the relay switch not only because of the Amperage but sparking when switching can really damage the contacts in the DC very quickly.

If you really have large pumps anything larger than 1/3 hp I would do the same.
Note that for some raseon the chillers compressor peak up more current at the start up than most pumps. It is that peak at the start, which can be as high as three times the running current what makes me recomend the relay not really the steady state current.
If you have large MH lighting (say three 400 watts) you can connect them singly but if you wat to operate the three at once I would recommend the relay.
An alternative to all this could be to use the X-10 function of the controller and use individual 15 or 20 Amp appliance modules to activate heavy loads. The issue will be one of reliability as to increase the X-10 reliability, a signal booster repeater might be required.
The relay contacts in the DC4HD are rated for a 1 HP motor, and 30 Amps, so a 1/2 HP chiller will not damage them. You must however, insure that your chiller does not draw more than the 12 Amp maximum of each DC4HD outlet.
