1/3 HP JBJ Chiller Help

Recently got a hold of a used chiller, having some difficulties getting it to run properly. It seems to keep throwing the breaker every time i plug it in. This is the same outlet where I had a full freezer/refig combo plugged in before. So I opened the chiller up and replaced some bad wires. I also came to the conclusion that the compressor was causing the issue. I unplugged the two wires that connect to the compressor plugged it in and the display worked and didn't blow the breaker. So i'm wondering now if any one in the area knows someone or knows something on how to trouble shoot it from here.

Thanks for your time!

try a different outlet on a bigger breaker the chiller may be pulling more amps than the fridge was what is the rated amps on the chiller I would guess 7-10

Doubtful. Fridge and chiller are basically the same thing, but chiller is on a much smaller scale. Does the compressor have two or three wires?

I would bet the chiller has a larger compressor than the fridge since the fridge is insulated it takes less to cool it down

Truth is they both are probably around 7 amps and most household circuits are 15 or 20 amps so Unless you have other things plugged into the same circuit then the chiller is drawing way more than it should be as stated by the op.

Update

Issue was loose wiring going into the compressor.

Thanks all for the help!

TY Lord it wasn't the compressor!
