I may be moving in the spring some 1600 mi from pa to tx. My tank has been up and running for several months. Just in case I do move. I need a logistical plan on how to pull it off. Check my homepage for my tanks build thread. Any help appreciated.

Um... if you only set it up a few months ago, I'd stop where you are and sell all your livestock (right before you move)... then with the same equipment start over in TX.

I'd simply hate to sell the livestock. Especially to stop adding anything now on the chance I might move. Options for shipping the livestock ahead or traveling with them would be preferable and yes I know extremely more risky and difficult.

not for sure yet but looks like im going to be facing a huge move like you. WI to FL i have livestock i have had for the last 8 years but yet im going to sell it all off before the move. Its to much risk moving everything that far unless you have a tank already set up at the new location and someone at the new tank that no's what they are doing. Moving cross country better off selling livestock keeping your equipment and start from scratch.

An alternative...have someone store your livestock, move, set up the tank and in a few months have it shipped overnight to you. When I moved from St Louis to Austin, I had a goof friend keep my livestock, then I picked them up a few months after the move. It worked well. It will cost less to airport to airport ship your livestock than overnight. Selling and buying again is not always the economical solution and not fun if you have pcs you can't replace easily.

I agree with sirreal63 I personally havent moved but talked to some folks who have had a friend or there LFS keep the stuff for up to several months while they moved and got settled in at there new home.
