I agree with sde1500. I only said a fudge because I missed the size of the tank.
First thing I would do is check the ro water to make sure everything is good on that end.
Then I would just keep with the manual removal of the algae. Do 1gal water changes every week and remove as much detritus as you can. Limit what you feed, it could also be the live rock itself that's causing this problem.
7 months is not a very long time to establish a tank.
What animals are in the tank?
How often do you feed?
How often do you change water and remove detritus?
Get a sea hare and it will mow that crap down in a week or two. Just be ready to rehome it because it will die if it doesn’t have a lot of algae to eat.
