Hello all this is my 1st post but I have been a lurker for a while.
A little about me..
Been in the hobby for over 20 years my last tank was taken down few months ago to make room for my newest build of the 10 feet by 32" deep and 31" high inwall.
my older entire systems volume was roughly 500 glns and with the new build will be over 1100 glns
I will have 5 tanks added in the fish room as different filtration sections for the main tank.
2 tanks of roughly 5 feet each will hold the rocks and return pumps, one smaller separate tank will be only for the skimmer and the last 2 will be each 4 foot long 30" wide and 18" tall for fragging, cheato, and any needed reactors.
Oh yes and another 120 glns for RO holding and water change mixing tank.
Below I have the rough drawing for the fish room.

Tomorrow I will show the destruction of the wall and tanks take down:spin3:

I had to think about about your "tear drop style". I believe you mean "tier drop style".

Looks like a plan. Will definitely be watching for developments.

very nice! I like the external overflow and the fact you are working with a limited space in your fish room. It reminds me of what I'm currently trying to build. It will be helpful to me to see what you do to maximize your space and get all the guts to fit for such a large tank. By the way, did you do the drawings yourself? I'm trying to find an easy to use cad program that would let me design my fishroom better. I'm currently using a ruler and graph paper. :)

I would suggest putting in a tank like in the middle for your skimmer, that will hold your filter socks. Getting into the sump to change them can be a real pita. Just ask Danfieg. Is this going to be mainly acrylic? I want to learn to build this kind of stuff. Currently in the tool building and acquiring stage.
Definitely tagging along. Have fun:beer:

Wow. This is nice and detailed. Definitely makes me on dream that I could have this much detail on my build. Tagging along.

As he is a good buddy of mine.
i can tell a little bit of info.
There is no filter socks.
the tank is fully running.
just have to finish the facing of the wall.
we spent most of the night painting.

heres a short video
my skill is lacking.

Wow what a lazy bum I am...lol..No been very busy in the past month.
I will be updating with tons of photos, I should put a date otherwise I will lazy out again..It will later on tonight.

He has run into a few problem since the last update.
First problem was the front euro brace cracked. had to drain the tank down half way to fix.
Back logging the progress.
Once he got that fixed up. I would say about a week later the back euro brace cracked.
After draining the tank down half way again.
so after all that. He still couldnt figure out why his acans, torch, hammers, green zoas, and chalices. Where slowly dying.

Until one morning he saw that the Heniochus brown butterflyfish had been nipping at them.
So almost 6 months later he had figured out it wasn't his lights, or water quality.

So i guess ill have to go over and take a few pictures.
since then he has added.
10 baby clown fish.
elegance, aussie goldening torches, and a beautiful bubble coral!
