10 Gallon Lighting?

I have a 10G nano with a Current T5HO fixture (2-lamp)..

I have a 4" DSB, which leaves 8" from the top of the sand bed to the top of the tank.

Is this fixture enough light for a maxima?

There's no standard here. It's whatever that particular clam desires. Personally, I think the best gauge is what kind of light it was under at the fish store you picked it up from. But even that isn't a great indicator. The only way to know is to try it out, but a dual T5 is probably going to be a bit of a stretch. If the bulbs are brand new and the clam is clear at the top he might adjust.

It might be enough. You do have high output T5's so I could be underestimating your ability to accomodate the clam's lighting requirements. I certainly don't think you could over-do it with this type of lighting so 8" would probably suffice. Again, it's all about that particular clam. If it was used to having 250W HQIs at the lfs and only being 8" from them, then it's going to struggle with T5HOs. I've always had good experiences with clams and usually notice them adjusting to changes in lighting, so I can only reinforce the positive. You really just never know until you try it out.

I have a T. Crocea in a 12g nanocube. It was fine under 48w PCs (about 2" from the light). Its under a 70w MH now (same positioning) and is fine. Its been in my tank for about 13 weeks.

You should be fine for lighting but keeping the water param's in check is what I would be concerned about.

Bought a crocea Saturday.. Will post a pic tonight. So far, seems happy. Has been open since late Saturday evening.
