10 gallon QT for wrasse?

Got a little yellow 'coris' wrasse 3 days ago. He's about 2.5 inches. My QT is only 10 gallons. I am worried about keeping him there very long. 12 weeks in that little tank seems like pushing it. The water quality is good but the size has to be stressful for him. Should I move him to the DT sooner? What does everyone think?

Wrasses are generally more disease resistant than other types of fish. So, IMO, it would be the least gamble. Do you have sand in the QT? If not, put at least 2" in one corner and that will make it a much better home for it.

It will be fine in there as long as you have sand in there for it as mentioned. I personally do 6-8 weeks QT, but even doing a 10-12 week QT period should be ok.

It's important to have a cover, too. I have 3 in a 34 G Qt tank now and they seem fine. They've been there for a week and a half so far. Do you have pvc or other places to hide?

Thank you for the input, guys. Yup, there is PVC and a big cup of sand too. And yes, a cover. Crossing my fingers that he'll be ok. After your input ill shoot for 6-8 weeks.
Thank you!
