10g Nano Help

Carbon Free Girl
OK so I have a 10g tank that was going to be a quarantine tank only, but after getting the 55g up and running and going so awesome, I am now converting it to a reef Nano,

I have started converting it and so far I have cycled it, I have 18Lb of LS and 4lbs of LR - (I am working on more LR this week) - and two very small Clowns (3/4").
[+ I have a clean-up Crew already in place]

I have a Aqua Clear 20 (100gph) [carbon, ceramics and foam] and a pruagen. we had a 28W 50/50 Coralife that i am using now but soon want to upgrade. My long term plan is to cap out at three fish (a Nano Goby) and work on some inverts like Zooanthids, polyps, and mushrooms.

So my questions are:
1: Flow - a power head to up the flow?
2: Lighting, I am looking at a 65W 50/50 but i would also like lunar lighting (and don't have a lot of space ontop), I was considering the Coralife Lunar Aqualight Deluxe Double Linear Strip 24" but had a question on that, as it has 1x65W Actinic and 1x65W 10000k does that make it a 130W total i.e 13W/g where recommended is 3-6w/g (I realise PAR has something to do with it but not how it works in this situation)
3: Once i get more live rock and I do water changes once a week (10%) I shouldn’t need a protein skimmer right?
4: can I have macro Algae or will the Clowns and Goby eat it? (there is a real cool fern like one at our LFS)

Thanks for your help, our 55g tank is going awesome (3 months and it is going gangbusters!) but there are some different challenges with a smaller tank!

With only a ac 20 on there, you should probably stick a powerhead in there and help out the flow.

If you do a 1g water change (10%) weekly, you shouldn't need a skimmer. That should take care of most of it. That's the routine I plan on doing for my 10g.

If you want to put the macro algae in the tank, I doubt they would mess with it, but why not put it in the aquaclear and use it as a small fuge?

This is how i set mine up.

The ac with macro,& LR rubble.

Thanks, I will up the flow and work on the fuge idea - but I am still a little baffeled by the lighting I need, will a 65W 50/50 be enough to comfortably cover most Zoo's, Polyps and Mushrooms?

Sweet, Cheers!

Watt for Watt - is a 50/50 better or a 1x Actinic + 1x 10,000k? i.e a 24" 1x65W 50/50 versus a 24" 2x36Watt 1x Actinic + 1x 10,000k

(I know it is not quite Watt for Watt at 65v72 but you get the idea of the question....)

your 28w will hold shrooms polyps and zoos at leas my old 10 with my 28 did. if you want a good light do the power quad 96W. i just se up another 10 and i put a 96 over it
