Hello Everyone,
It's been a while since I've had a reef aquarium...back then, it was called a micro reef and Julian Sprung's 15g was the sensation. I've designed the following setup along the lines of a larger aquarium and not a typical nano described here. I'm looking for input into my design. The setup is as follows:
- 10g acylic with overflow; hood & stand (myfishtank.com)
- custom designed sump (glasscages.com)
- tunze nano skimmer
- ice cap ballast with 4x 18" VHOs (thinking of changing to 2x VHO and 1X MH 20k, depending on space)
- Neptune controller
- calcium reactor...any suggestions for a smaller reef?
- 1/2" sand bed
- 25 lb live rock
My largest lingering questions are, will the VHO be enough for LPS and clams? At 10" depth I would suspect not but I may be wrong. Also, what turnover should I shoot for? I'm looking for an Iwaki pump, but dont know what GPH I should buy. Any experience with the Tunze nano? Looking forward to any input.
Thanks,
Tom
