10g Temperate Nano

Hello -

I'm not too active on this forum, but a friend mentioned that perhaps you all would be interested in this tank. It is an insulated 10g acrylic aquarium, 16x12x12. A 1/10hp chiller brings the temp easily to 35, but I'll be keeping it steady at 55-57 degrees.

As far as stocking: Urticina felina, Metridium dianthus, Tubularia crocea and Cerianthis borealis - those are what I'm planning right now. For reference, that was two 'regular' anemones, a hydroid and a tube anemone. Also, a couple Waratahs (Actinia tenebrosa), and hopefully the elusive strawberries (Corynactis californicus) if I can find a source. If not those two, then I'll leave the temperature a little lower, around 50.

It's empty right now, hoping to add livestock over the next few weeks. If any of you in the PNW have access to any livestock, let me know!

The system is looking great and will probably prove easier to take care of than your tropical setup.

Thanks. I figured I wouldn't get much feedback - RC is good for pretty pictures, with a smattering of advice thrown in for kicks. Figured I'd pave the way, though.

Yeah, Steve Weast's tanks were the impetus for this project. I meant paving the way for a temperate nano - to my knowledge there aren't many who have successfully kept a ten gallon tank at 58 degrees long-term.

Anyway, it should be a fun endeavor. All I need now is to track down some livestock - not much to pick from in the desert!
