10K Coralife VS 14K Phoenix 150W DE HQI MH

Well, if you want to drive to Aurora, come and see. I just installed a Phoenix 250 on Tuesday to replace my 20K Giesemann. I'm running it in the middle and 2 14.5K Giesemann's on the end's of my 180gal. You are more than welcome to come out, anyone. I'd like to show off my tank. I like the Phoenix and it is blue, but crisp, and they are way bluer than the Giesemann 14.5K, and the Giesemann have hella output and par. I've had to move some sps due to some bleaching, and they are the same bulbs James runs on the 700gallon. I showed him pic's of mine after I got them in Dec, and he liked them enough to change. So again, feel free to come out and see the difference. I don't like Coralife AT ALL. Go with the Phoenix or Giesemann. That's what I've found to be the best for me and that's what I'll stick with. In case you're wondering why I'm running the Phoenix at all, is because I have several Acan Lord's and a couple Acan Maxima's that will melt under the Giesemann 14.5K's.

i think it looks alot better with the 14ks
and if james uses them they must be good lol that tank rocks

if you want to and some supplemental light build you a 3 sided open top cap for the tank then you could mount the vho to that plus it would hide some of the equipment and be less distracting

that did make quite the difference! that is really really blue though... need to bring out the pinks/reds/yellows more... maybe try one 14k and one 10k? might look wierd though.

Steve, still up for monday? if you want, we can swing down to my place afterwards and you can see my tank in person. I'm wanting to cut out that foam wall so i can use much more of that rock, didn't know if you wanted to spend the evening hanging out with me :D let me know man

Steve

after only a couple days, i have gotten used to the blue-ness of the lights - it's just that my dining room looked like it had an open tanning bed in it to me at first.
as far as monday goes, shaar, as long as its only a couple of hours, i am game. i just need to be home in time to be asleep by 8pm.

yea thats fine. i don't want to keep you too long. how about we load up the stuff, go down to my place, drop off the stuff where it needs to go, then i'll take you back..? I'll rush as much as possible
