11 gallon Nano

Heres a tank I've been working on for a while..
in milimeters its 620x180x395 which is 44 litres or 11 gallons.
I made the tank myself to go on a mantlepiece, but then we moved so its on a side table now.

I'm waiting on some waterproof endcaps to arrive, and then I'll be building a hood hopefully to match the table that the tank is on.. the hood will house two 2 foot T5 lights.. one 10000k and the other 20000k

Once the lighting and hood are done, I'll be shopping for live rock.

So are Deep Sand Beds common in Nanos? (around the 10 gallon range)

I figured that since I was going skimmerless I would go for as much surface area for bacteria as possible. I'm not sure how much live rock I'll be getting yet, and I'll wait till I build the lighting rig/hood before getting it incase I score some hitchhiker corals (its a possibility with Australian Live Rock).

Anyone else done the deep sand bed thing? I figure as well as harbouring a lot of life it will also place corals closer to the lighting
