So i have a smaller tank about 57 gallons and i have started gettig some algea issues (hair algea) and i want to know what is the best fish to combat these issues in my stoney reef tank. please any advise is helpful.

i would look at why you are getting algae, instead of trying to put a band-aid on it.

What are your nutrient levels?
What are you doing to export nutrients? (Skimmer, water changes, chemicals, etc...)
Age of bulbs?
Feeding habits?

Once you determine these factors, and start correcting for them, the algae should subside. I would imagine that the new fish would only add to your problem by increasing your bio-load.

HTH,

Tangs of the Ctenochaetus genus (bristle-tooth) can be kept in smaller tanks. Provided your tank is at least 4 feet long. It has been my experience that they will not control the hair algea problem tho. They will pick at it but not erradicate it.

You may want to concider a sea hare or lettuce nudibranch.

hand pick or use a teeth brush, collect floating algea
change water with ro/di filter, water change weekly
change light bulb
change place of tank whichs from direct sun light
use po4 filter media
